RBC Wealth Management has recruited a former UBS financial advisor with about $215 million in client assets to join its Denver Tech branch, according to a news release.

Cynthia Hansen operates a multigenerational family practice with her daughter, Elyse Martinez, who serves as client associate, the release said. Joining them is Brenda Kochevar, senior investment associate.

Hansen, who has nearly two decades in the industry, spent the past 10 years at UBS and prior to that she was with Merrill Lynch, Pierce, Fenner & Smith for five years, according to her BrokerCheck profile. She began her career at Citigroup Global Markets in 2003.

Hansen said in the release that she chose RBC because of its “strong leadership team and supportive, advisor-friendly culture” and the opportunity to create a team with her daughter.

“RBC is the best place for us to grow and evolve our practice over time,” Hansen said in a prepared statement. “The firm embraces and cultivates an entrepreneurial, client-first culture and has all the capabilities and resources we need to serve our clients.”

Dan Ball, Denver Complex director, said: “Cindy is a talented advisor and incredibly well-respected in the Denver area—both for her wealth management practice and commitment to giving back to the community—which makes her a perfect fit for RBC Wealth Management.”
