Right from the first sentence, "the so-called ACA" the author's point point-of-view is obvious and not at all fair, balanced or independent. "Is any taxpayer benefitting?" Yes. I am. My wife was born with a heart condition. She was essentially uninsurable under the old rules where insurers could pick and choose their pool of insureds. Then my son was born with a heart condition and needed surgery @ 6 months to correct. Perhaps the author feels these human beings are not deservinig of medical attention and should have just died? Or that I am not deserving of the ability to open my own firm and not be beholden to needing health insurnace provided for me and my family by a larger firm? The poor and the sick benefitted from the ACA, others paid more. That is the reality. Perhaps Mr. Leaugue could stick to providing quality advice to his clients instead of airing his political grievances and ignoring any semblance of compassion. And hopefully this magazine would stop publishing hit pieces like this and instead focus on publishing articles providing real, helpful, advice to planners looking to help their clients.
