Pitcairn, a family office in Jenkintown, Pa., has promoted two executives, including one who has been named head of wealth management.

J. Matthew McCarte was named managing director, head of wealth management, a role that will have him oversee all relationship management teams at the firm, Pitcairn said in a press release today.

Karen Carlson was meanwhile named leader of the firm's ultra-high-net-worth relationship team.

The promotions come shortly after the firm announced that firm President Andrew L. Busser will take over as CEO in place of Leslie Voth, who will remain as chairman.

"Matt and Karen are both outstanding leaders who have demonstrated a commitment to delivering a client experience that is truly outstanding," Busser said in a prepared statement. "They are both experienced leaders who have contributed greatly to making Pitcairn the firm it is today and what we plan to become over the next hundred years. We are pleased to recognize their dedication, abilities, and contributions to Pitcairn's success, and we congratulate them on this milestone."

Before taking his new role, McCarte was a relationship management team leader for the firm, where he has worked for 25 years, the firm said. He is a member of Pitcairn's Investment Strategy Committee and its Strategic Leadership and Family Office Leadership councils.

McCarte, a CFP planner, has an M.B.A. in finance from Villanova University and bachelor's degree in economics from Ursinus College.

Carlson has been with Pitcairn for 13 years and has advised multigenerational families, the firm said. She is a member of Pitcairn's Strategic Leadership, Family Office Leadership, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion councils.
