Financial advisor Diahann W. Lassus has been awarded the 2010 Robert J. Underwood Distinguished Service Award from the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors.
The award recognizes a professional who has made a significant contribution to advancing the practice of fee-only financial planning and advising. NAPFA presented the award to Lassus at its national conference in Chicago.
Lassus has served as a member of NAPFA's National Board, chaired the organization's Industry Issues Committee, and served as 2008-09 National Chair. She has been active in helping lead the Financial Planning Coalition, a collaboration of NAPFA, the Financial Planning Association and the CFP Board of Standards, to push for consumer protection through legislation that would regulate those calling themselves "financial planners."
She is co-founder and president of Lassus Wherley, an advisory firm with offices in New Providence, N.J. and Bonita Springs, Fla.
