We had originally selected another company for today's Deal of the Day, but when we delved further into Silent Circle, we decided on this company instead. Noteworthy, first, is the size of deal - $50M is not insignficant - and the lead investor - Santander Bank, which has a very progressive VC division investing in numerous fintechs internationally. Also noteworthy is the structure of the company - providing encrypted smartphones ("Blackphones"), software, services & technology.
While they service multiple categories, the first case study on their website is of a financial services company that suffered a data breach.
