For more complicated problems, Brewer recommended the fishbone approach, in which a team breaks a problem into different parts, which resembles a fish’s skeleton.

If you hold a problem-solving meeting, make sure to get to the root cause of the problem.

To get this point across, Brewer showed Albert Einstein’s quote: “If I had an hour to solve a problem I’d spend 55 minutes thinking about the problem and 5 minutes thinking about solutions.”
