Frank Pare, FPA president, acknowledged there will be many questions and some objections during the transition process. Some plans may be revised based on chapter input.

“Our goal is to elevate the profession and, to do that, we need to engage our members,” he said. “The members will give the strategic direction to the board of directors.”

“We needed to improve our business model,” noted Lauren M. Schadle, FPA executive director and CEO. During the discussions about what was needed to modernize the organization, some less drastic measures were considered, but were rejected as not being far reaching enough.

Two task forces already have been created: a transition task force and a technology task force. Other task forces will be formed in the next year to handle issues that will arise.

“We do not have all the details yet. We will need the help of our members and volunteers to achieve the transition,” Pare said.
