For the sixth year, financial advisors will offer their services free of charge in 22 areas around the country during Financial Planning Days. The events are planned for Saturday, October 3 through Saturday, November 7.

Certified financial planners are partnering with city governments to offer the services in schools, municipal buildings and libraries. Financial Planning Days are a joint effort by Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards Inc., Financial Planning Association, Foundation for Financial Planning and the U.S. Conference of Mayors.

The mission of the initiative is to bring free, ethical financial planning advice to the public through one-on-one advice sessions and group workshops. The particpating professionals will not distribute business cards, take names, or sell financial products or services.

Free registration is available at www.FinancialPlanningDays.org or by calling toll-free at 1-877-861-7826. Walk-ins are also welcome.  The list of areas where the events will be held and the dates are available here.
