Stephen Freedman has been appointed head of sustainable investing solutions at UBS Wealth Management Americas as part of the firm’s continuing effort to expand UBS’s offerings in the sustainable investing market, the company announced Monday.

Freedman also will be responsible for promoting an understanding of sustainable investing concepts and solutions among financial advisors. He was previously head of U.S. thematic and sustainable investing strategy within the chief investment office wealth management research team.

Freedman joins other recent appointees in the sustainable and impact investing space at UBS. They are Michael Baldinger, head of sustainable and impact investing for UBS Asset Management and former CEO of RobecoSAM; Rina Kupferschmid-Rojas, head of sustainable investing for UBS Wealth Management’s Chief Investment Office, and previously Chief Executive of ESG Analytics; and James Gifford, senior impact investing strategist in UBS Wealth Management’s chief investment office and the founding executive director of the UN Principles for Responsible Investment.

"Sustainability is a cornerstone of our business and I look forward to leveraging our partnerships and scaling up our sustainable investing offerings across all asset classes and product areas," says Freedman.
