Pershing’s survey involved 1,031 investor interviews between February 8 and March 4, 2018.

Mr. Robbins writes a very confusing article. (a) Somehow, 63 percent is "more than two-thirds." (b) A client's goal is to maximize "their current and potential happiness." How is "happiness" measured? You can't manage what you don't measure. A client doesn't find that at an investment firm but at a psycharist's office. Ditto for "guidance through life events." (c) And he confuses investment advisers with financial planners. You don't search for financial planners at the SEC's website. The problem is ignorance at the client level. They don't know the difference between an investment adviser and a financial adviser. Our educational system has failed them.
