The bank’s portfolio includes large corporates like Philips and DSM that build circular practices into their business model, as well as companies and sectors that are not necessarily thought of as sustainable. They include PapayaGogo, a PAAS model company, and Black Bear Carbon.
Another focus is on projects or assets that are ultimately sustainable or green, such as a renewable wind portfolio, sustainable real estate, water treatments and waste treatment facilities.
“ING has a lending book and we have many projects that fit that description,” said Riel. “We have a large renewable energy book.”
