Kestra Holdings is beefing up its cybersecurity for itself and its subsidiaries with the hiring of Jean-Luc Dupont as chief security officer, the firm announced.

Dupont has cybersecurity and risk management experience that spans three countries. He will serve as vice president, chief information security officer, and head of cybersecurity and technology risk.

“Jean-Luc is a proven expert with global experience fortifying firms’ infrastructure and safeguarding systems,” Nick Harness, Kestra Holdings’ chief information officer, said in a statement.

Dupont was appointed to the position to drive the cybersecurity and technology risk management strategy for Kestra Holdings and its subsidiaries and to create cyber and technology risk initiatives, Kestra Holdings said.

“The financial services industry is at a turning point with technology advancements, Dupont said in a statement. He added that he wants to develop a team of sophisticated cybersecurity engineers to fuel and execute on the firm’s robust cyber program.”

He will chair the Cybersecurity Governance Committee and lead the company’s continuing cyber education program for employees and associated financial professionals to counter any potential cybersecurity problems.

Dupont joins Kestra Financial from American Credit Acceptance where he was vice president and chief information security officer. Prior to that he was with IDEMIA as global head of IT Security.
