Ladenburg Thalmann Financial Services Inc. is launching a new platform of services and tools for its retirement plan advisors, the firm announced Thursday.

Ladenburg Thalmann said it has created the Retirement Plan Consulting Platform, which will combine ongoing consulting support with enhanced software tools, training and other resources to facilitate growth for retirement plan-focused advisors in its five independent advisory and brokerage subsidiaries: Securities America, Triad Advisors, KMS Financial Services, Investacorp and Securities Service Network.

The move to enhance services for retirement plan advisors is being made as other large independent broker-dealers seem to be backing away from this part of the market.

Ladenburg’s new platform is designed to give advisors more product selection options, better investment monitoring capabilities, fee and expense benchmarking reports and marketing and educational material, according to the company.

In addition, the platform will give advisors training in preparing for meetings with retirement plan sponsors, creating model portfolios and assisting sponsors with plan enrollment, according to the company. The platform was developed in partnership with the Retirement Plan Advisory Group, a retirement plan consulting service based in Aliso Viejo, Calif.
