LPL Financial has added a former eBay executive as managing director and chief information officer.
The Charlotte-based independent broker-dealer and investment advisory firm announced on Thursday that Scott Seese will assume the vacant CIO post on July 10. He will report to Dan Arnold, LPL president and CEO.
“I’m excited to welcome Scott to our management team, and I’m confident in his ability to transform our technology products and platforms from utility to strategic assets,” said Arnold in released comments. “Scott is a seasoned technology executive who is known as an innovator and digital disruptor. He brings a wealth of proven experience building and delivering customer-centric technologies at leading organizations.”
Seese most previously served as CIO of the global consumer business unit at American Express. Prior to that he was CIO and vice president, information technology at eBay.
According to LPL, Seese has for the last year focused his energies on philanthropy, and as an angel investor and board advisor to startup companies
Seese is filling a role previously held by Victor Fetter, who LPL says is “pursuing a new opportunity.”
