Twitter and social networking websites for financi
Thank you for this useful article. Whilst many financial advisors look at Twitter (and other social networking websites) with a certain amount of suspicion and caution, it is already proving to be an extremely valuable tool to interact and engage with both prospects and existing clients.
I am aware of financial planners in the UK who have already received new business enquiries as a result of their use of Twitter - whilst others use it to keep up to date on tools, tips, news, events and best practice affecting them and the wider financial planning profession.
Articles and news from IFA Life (the social networking website for financial planners) are also delivered through Twitter - again helping professional financial advisors to network, share best practice, debate industry issues and to provide help and support to one another.
Social media is one of the most exciting opportunities to hit the financial planning world in years. Advisors need to take a close look, learn the new communication skills needed and to understand the relevant compliance and marketing rules. But once mastered, they can enjoy a wide range of benefits of using such websites and tools.
