“Our financial advisors provide unbiased advice,” she notes. “They do not sell any products. All of our advisors are on a salary basis, not a commission, so they really are trying to make the best decision for the person sitting across from them.”

For example, if a person needs life insurance its advisors will recommend a few different service providers. “If Vanguard has a better product they will recommend that,” Naqui says.

“The Society of Grownups is not about being a referral engine for MassMutual,” Naqui adds. “It is about providing this group with a broad range of knowledge and skills to become competent and savvy when it comes to handling their own money.”
