Merrill Lynch Wealth Management says it will add a client-to-advisor texting feature as part of its digital suite beginning next month.

Scottsdale, Ariz.-based CellTrust partnered with Merrill Lynch to manage, track and deliver text messaging. All communication is time- and date-stamped, tracked, logged and archived, according to CellTrust’s website.

The texting feature will allow clients to collaborate with their financial advisors and will be available to the firm’s nearly 15,000 financial advisors, according to the announcement. Additional options include a mobile client relationship management application, social media capabilities and a revised content sharing platform.

Financial advisors participating in Merrill’s mobile program will be able to text with clients on both Apple and Android devices. A web interface will provide secure access to corporate email, calendar and contacts from devices linked to their office phone numbers, as stated in the release.
