Modera Wealth Management LLC, a fee-only wealth management firm based in Westwood, N.J., has merged with Cambridge Wealth Counsel of Atlanta to create a $2 billion firm, Modera announced Wednesday.

The merger was effective Jan. 1. Cambridge also is a fee-only wealth management firm. The two offices will operate under the Modera name.

Robert Hockett, a principal at Cambridge, now is a principal and wealth manager with Modera, along with Modera principal and wealth manager Greg Plechner. The two firms have been discussing the merger for several years.

The realigned firm now has 55 employees, including 28 holding the CFP designation, five holding the CFA designation and three being CPAs.
