“This process is not an excuse to stop growing” or be distracted, Moore said. “This is about redoubling our efforts. … My desire here is to make sure you are affiliated with the very best partner you can be.”

Despite the company’s efforts to be transparent, “I’m sure it won’t … mitigate some of the sensational stories that get written” or counteract a tendency for people to imagine the worst, he said.

But “when you see one of those [stories] I do hope that at least some aspect of my voice is in your head and … you really do think through fact versus fiction.”
