Sopher Financial Group, a family advisor team in Metuchen, N.J., has joined LPL Financial’s broker-dealer, RIA and custodial platforms, the company said.

Sopher Financial was formerly with Kestra Financial, where the team managed about $200 million in client assets.

Led by Managing Partner Daniel Sopher, an industry veteran with more than three decades of experience, the multigenerational advisor team also includes his sons, lead advisor and Director of Financial Planning Bobby Sopher, and Client Services Director Matthew Sopher. Both sons hold the CFP designation. They are joined by office manager Judi Diamond.

Daniel Sopher said the family advisor team specializes in helping clients and their families set achievable financial goals supported by an investment strategy custom-designed to meet their unique individual needs and comfort level.

“As a family business, we take our roles personally,” he said in a news release. “We consider our clients family, which is why we foster long-term relationships founded on transparency. As their personal CFO, we will walk beside clients and their loved ones today, tomorrow, and for years to come.”

“It was crucial for us to be with a partner that’s going to be on top of the tech curve,” he said. “With LPL’s vast resources and networking capabilities, we believe we’ll be on the right path to better serve our clients and grow the business.”

Sopher said the decision to move the practice to LPL was made to ensure its continuation.

“This move isn’t something I take lightly,” he said. “Its my legacy, and I want to continue that with my sons. I’m confident this will help us now with efficiencies and also in the future.”

Headquartered in Fort Mill, S.C., San Diego, and Boston, LPL Financial supports more than 21,000 financial advisors nationwide.
