A New Jersey advisory firm with approximately $400 million in client brokerage and advisory assets has joined the LPL Financial LLC platform.

LPL Financial LLC, headquartered in Boston, Mass., is the largest independent broker-dealer in the United States.

Wellesley Financial Planners, an independent financial management and advisory firm founded in 1984 by Greg Spicer, was formerly with Cadaret Grant.

Spicer has grown his team to nine advisors. He has also grown his firm’s clientele since applying his “Spirit of Life” philosophy to his approach in advising and managing other people’s wealth 20 years ago.

Spicer explained his reason for leaving Cadaret Grant for LPL Financial. “The industry is in a period of consolidation and acquisitions, and that can leave planners with a degree of uncertainty,” Spicer said. “We decided LPL was the best fit for our business.”

Spicer said that another reason he made the move from Cadaret Grant to LPL Financial was, in part, for the latter’s size and scale. “They are committed to leveraging their scale to invest in technology and resources, which was a huge draw for us,” Spicer said. “We’re already seeing more efficiency and less paperwork.”

Spicer sad that LPL’s home office supervision was another big plus for his firm. “It relieves back office work so we can have more time in front of our clients,” he said. To learn more about Wellesley, go to their website at www.wfplanners.com.
