In the recent disciplinary action, two other planners had their right to use the CFP mark permanently revoked for failing to answer a CFP Board complaint against them. They are:

• Michael T. Sullivan, Mooresville, N.C. The board’s complaint charged Sullivan with selling variable annuities to his clients that were unsuitable and with charging his clients both commissions and fees on some sales, among other violations.

• Michael A. Zolondek, Mauston, Wis. The board’s complaint charged Zolondek with helping employees or contractors cheat on the life underwriter training course.

In addition, the following planners had their right to use the CFP mark suspended for various lengths of time for various violations. The longest suspension was four years for Roy Dwane Johnson, Raceland, Ky. The board says he misappropriated funds and submitted false records to his firm for business expense reimbursement claims for five years.

Others who had their right suspended to use the mark include Scott A. Brooks, Edgewood, Ken., for one year and one day; Charles E. O’Hara, Newport, R.I., for one year and one day; Brett Fellows, Mount Pleasant, S.C., for one year and one day; Kevin M. Nevin, St. Louis Park, Minn., for one year; Candy J. Lee, Seattle, Wash., for nine months; Swan S. Shen, Andover, Mass., for six months; Robert A. Magliulo, Manhasset, N.Y., for six months; and Jacqueline H. Thornhill, Las Vegas, Nev., for three months.
