Procyon Partners, a Shelton, Conn.-based RIA with a dual focus on retirement plan/participants and private clients, has expanded into New York City.

The firm has hired financial advisor Jim Jeffery, who is based in NYC. Jeffery has $420 million in client assets, bringing Procyon to a total of $3 billion in assets under advisement, a news release said.

Jeffery specializes in working with senior living organizations, which operate retirement communities. He works with fiduciaries and management to craft investment programs that balance the needs for total return and organizational mission, including compliance with debt covenants.  In addition, he works with high-net-worth families on retirement planning and wealth management, the release said.

Prior to joining Procyon, Jeffery worked as a managing director at an RIA in New York City. He is a chartered financial analyst (CFA) with an M.B.A. from New York University and a B.A. from Duke University, the release noted.
