St. Petersburg, Fla.-based Raymond James is adding a pair of Detroit-area financial advisors to its broker-dealer platform.

Gary Cook and Kristina Daniel join Raymond James from Merrill Lynch, where they managed approximately $240 million in client assets. Based in Clinton Township, Mich., the pair will operate as Cook Daniel Wealth Management of Raymond James.

Both advisors started their careers at Merrill Lynch. Cook, a graduate of Oakland University’s finance program, entered the financial industry in 1995 in Rochester, Mich., eventually moving to Auburn Hills, Mich., before settling in Clinton Township.

Daniel, who holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Oakland University, started at Merrill Lynch in 1998 as a mailroom staffer, eventually becoming a certified financial planner and a certified divorce financial analyst.

In their new roles, Cook will become senior vice president of wealth management, while Daniel will become assistant vice president of wealth management.
