Texas financial advisor David Ahlquist has moved Raymond James' employee division, according to a news release. His new title will be senior vice president, wealth management.

Ahlquist joins the Raymond James Houston office from TIAA Financial Services, where he previously managed more than $600 million in client assets. He and Christie Hayden, practice business manager, will operate as Ahlquist Private Wealth Management of Raymond James. The team serves families and individuals, family offices, health-care professionals, nonprofits, philanthropists and retirees.

Ahlquist began his career as a private client investment consultant at Charles Schwab in 1999. From 2004 until May 2019, he served as senior wealth management advisor for TIAA in Austin, Texas, and Houston.

Ahlquist earned a B.S. degree from the University of Maryland, College Park.
