RBC Wealth Management has tapped a former UBS industry veteran to lead its Texas South Complex, according to a news release.

Scott Skinner, a 30-year veteran of the financial services industry, was most recently the market director for the Central Texas Region of UBS. He started his career in 1993 at Merrill Lynch and moved to SunAmerica/AIG in 2009 before joining UBS in 2013.

Skinner will lead eight branch offices and 73 financial advisors who oversee $13.2 billion in client assets, the release noted.

“The top priorities for my new role are to continue RBC Wealth Management’s growth in southern Texas by recruiting seasoned, high-quality financial advisors and to foster a supportive and success-oriented work environment,” Skinner said in a prepared statement.

Darryl Traweek, West divisional director for RBC Wealth Management – U.S, said, “I am confident that Scott will be a strong leader for our Texas South complex, and I am looking forward to partnering with him to continue expanding our firm’s presence in Texas."

In the U.S., RBC Wealth Management operates as a division of RBC Capital Markets. The firm has $513 billion in total client assets with more than 2,100 financial advisors operating in 190 locations in 42 states.
