A team with $1 billion in client assets that joined Wells Fargo last year has moved on to RBC Wealth Management–U.S., according to an announcement today from RBC.

The Seidler Cattich Group is led by veteran advisors Joseph Seidler and Gary Cattich, who both serve as managing director and financial advisor and have worked together for 15 years, according to their BrokerCheck profiles.

The San Francisco-based group, which specializes in goals-based wealth planning for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, also includes financial advisors Max Lewin and Kayvan Izadpanah, and investment associate Roy Mendoza.

Seidler and Cattich both began working at Wachovia Securities in 2005. Seidler had previously worked at Piper Jaffray and Charles Schwab, and Cattich at Morgan Stanley and Banc of America Securities. They left Wachovia for Merrill Lynch in 2008, moved to UBS in 2014, and then to Wells Fargo last January.

Seidler said prior to the UBS move the team had a discussion with RBC. “While what we heard about RBC sounded good, I honestly doubted whether it could all be true,” he said in a statement. “But as we’ve learned from friends who have moved here in the past year or so, it’s not only true, but even better than advertised. It’s kind of hard not to take a serious look at a place that people you trust say is the new gold standard in the industry. So here we are.”

He said RBC offers high-tech, high-touch, immediate support that ultra-high-net-worth clients deserve, and he noted that those services are even more specialized for clients who live or own property abroad. “As part of RBC ... we strive to offer international clients a level of expertise and service that is unparalleled,” he said.

Michael Schipper, Northern California complex director, said, “This is a team with a stellar reputation for serving clients. The fact that they are joining us because of what they’ve heard about RBC’s reputation and how easy it is to do business here speaks volumes."
