Rockefeller Capital Management has added The Hassan Group, with offices in Stamford, Conn., and Boca Raton, Fla., to its global family office, according to a news release.

The Hassan Group, formerly with Alex. Brown, a division of Raymond James, is led by Richard Hassan, managing director and private wealth advisor. The firm serves wealthy and ultra-wealthy individuals.

In a July 2021 interview with Barron’s, Hassan said his firm managed  $2.5 billion in assets.

The team includes Matthew Holbrook, senior vice president and private wealth advisor, and Gina Valle, associate vice president and private wealth management director of operations. It will be part of Rockefeller’s Northeastern Division, headed by Michael Parker, the release noted.

Hassan began his career in 1994 with Montana Securities Corporation, according to BrokerCheck. Early in his career, he worked for BT Alex. Brown Inc. He also worked for Morgan Stanley & Co., Thomas Weisel Partners LLC and Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., prior to the acquisition of the company’s private client business by Raymond James in 2016.

Holbrook began his career in 2009 with Citigroup Global Markets Inc. He has worked at Deutsche Bank, Alex. Brown, Citigroup, and Neuberger Berman. Valle began in the industry in 1994 with Legg Mason Wood Walker Inc. She also has worked at several firms, including Merrill Lynch, BT Alex. Brown Inc., Thomas Weisel Partners LLC, and Deutsche Bank Securities Inc.

New York City-based Rockefeller Capital Management has 40 locations across the U.S.  As of the end of June, the firm was responsible for about $90 billion in client assets across its three business segments: the Rockefeller Global Family Office (including Private Wealth Management and Family Office), Rockefeller Asset Management and Rockefeller Strategic Advisory.
