Rockefeller Capital Management has expanded its New York City footprint with the addition of a six-member team that was previously with UBS.

Led by managing director and private advisor Angela Mwanza, the team, formerly Evergreen Wealth Management, will operate as Oryx Legacy Partners, Rockefeller announced on Friday. The team includes private advisor and senior vice president Jordan Powell; advisor and vice president Mimi Kuo-Chin Shih; vice president and wealth manager Wenyi “Jason” Wang; associate vice president and wealth manager Przemyslaw “Shem” Filipek, and senior client associate Allissa Purkey.

Mwanza, who co-founded Evergreen Wealth Management at UBS, began her career in 2001 with J.P. Morgan Securities Inc. and worked for Quick & Reilly Inc. and Lehman Brothers Inc., before joining UBS in 2008, according to BrokerCheck.

Mwanza has been recognized by Forbes as a top advisor and this year was ranked No.152 on the Forbes Best-In-State Wealth Advisors list and No. 38 on Forbes Best-In-State Women Advisors list. According to the listings, her team managed $878 million in assets under management.

Mwanza “executes investment strategies with a focus on managing risk, liquidity, and is one of the earliest advisors to embrace sustainable and impact investments,” the announcement said. It also noted that she serves on several boards, including Jumia, a for profit e-commerce platform operating in Africa.

Powell began his career in 2010 with BNP Paribas and joined UBS in 2014. Shih joined UBS in 2002. Prior to that she worked for CIBC Wood Gundy in Vancouver, Canada, according to the announcement.

Established in 2018, Rockefeller Capital Management offers services in more than 40 locations across the U.S. and one in London.
