Rockefeller Capital Management has added two teams with a total of more than $1 billion to its global family office in Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles, according to a news release.

Shaffer Wealth Partners, led by managing director and private advisor Sheila Shaffer, joins Rockefeller Global Family Office in the DC Metro area from Janney Scott Montgomery. Joining her are senior vice president and private advisor Eric Walker; vice president and wealth manager Daniel Spainhour; and associate vice president and client associate Allyson Albert. The team will report to Kristen Sario, Southeast Divisional director.

Shaffer had been with Janney since 2009, according to BrokerCheck. She began her career at Merrill Lynch in 1983 and worked at Legg Mason, Citigroup Global Markets and Morgan Stanley Smith Barney before joining Janney. She ranked No. 37 on Forbes’ Best-In-State Wealth Advisors list and No. 3 on its Top Women Wealth Advisors Best-In-State this year. According to the lists, the team managed $740 million in assets.

Walker, who has worked with Shaffer since 2015, began his career in 2009 with Morgan Stanley. He was ranked No. 14 on Forbes’ Top-Next-Gen Wealth Advisors Best-In-State list in 2019.

Separately, Willis Wealth Partners, led by managing director and private advisor Matt Willis, was previously with Wells Fargo. The team also includes senior vice president and private advisor Frank Willis; vice presidents and private advisors Neil Martin and Patrick Digenan; and senior client associate Claudia Ramirez. They join Rockefeller Global Office in Los Angeles and will report to Brian Riley, Western Divisional drector.

Matt Willis began his career in June 2014 with Mutual Securities, Inc. where he spent four months  before moving to Wells Fargo, according to BrokerCheck. He ranked No. 31 on Forbes’ Top Next-Gen Wealth Advisors Best-In-State this year. According to the list, the team managed $270 million in assets.

Frank Willis began his career in 2013 at JP Morgan Securities LLC. He moved to Merrill Lynch after a year and joined Wells Fargo in 2018 and partnered with his brother to establish their practice.
