A top advisor at Morgan Stanley who managed $1.8 billion in assets has left to join Rockefeller Capital Management Global Family Office in the Bay Area, according to a news release.

Cheryl Young, who founded Young & Associates in 2009, is based in Los Gatos, Calif. She had been with Morgan Stanley since 2012. She along with her seven-member team join Rockefeller Capital Management’s Pacific Northwest Division, headed by division director Brian Riley.

Young began her career in 1998 with IDS Life Insurance Company, where she spent eight years before moving to Ameriprise, according to BrokerCheck. In November 2010, she signed on with UBS for 10 days. She then worked for Raymond James for three years.

She was No.1 on the Forbes’ 2022 Best-in-State Wealth Advisors list and No. 4 on its America’s Top Women Advisors’ list. According to Forbes, she managed $1.8 billion in assets, with a minimum account size of $5 million. Young also has been included on Barron’s Top 100 Women’s Advisors’ list since 2014.

Her team includes Boaz Chan, Jennifer Seacrist, Wey Lim and Nicholas Peterson, all vice presidents and client relationship directors; Sah Mijts, vice president and business practice manager; Jenny Young, financial planning analyst; and Cassidy Liu, senior client associate.
