Charles Schwab today launched a revamped Web site that it says will provide a more transparent and simplified online investing experience.

The new site at www.schwab.com is designed to simplify the brokerage transaction process by providing answers to common questions about Schwab, such as "How much does a service cost?" and "What do I get for my money?" company officials said.

The Web site also allows visitors to access pricing information, preview research tools that have traditionally been locked behind client log-ins and read peer reviews written by Schwab clients. Schwab research indicated that customers view conducting brokerage transactions online is too complicated and opaque, said Helen Loh, Charles Schwab vice president of digital marketing.

"Based on our research and conversations with clients, the financial services industry can and must do a better job of communicating its offerings in a way that simplifies and improves the shopping process for investors," Loh said.
