“It’s tough for advisors to break out of their inertia, and I thought we’d see more activity from Jumpstart advisors,” Bradley admitted, adding that it seems like they’re coming on, opening an account and poking around, but that’s it. “It’s going to be really important for the advisors to be highly engaged with us. We’ll have a fairly small window when we offer the training and webinars. They’ll need to pay attention.”

Advisor clients will be prompted 30 days in advance of the migration to choose their Schwab account credentials, and on September 5 all their historical data should be in place where they’d expect to see it, the panel said. The TD Ameritrade brand will then be retired, although no date has been chosen as of yet.
