Scott Hayward, former CEO of Quantitative Management Associates LLC, has been hired as CEO of Grantham, Mayo, Van Otterloo & Co. LLC, a private partnership that manages $88 billion in investments based in Boston.

The appointment is effective Feb. 13. Hayward will succeed Peg McGetrick, currently serving as interim CEO, who will remain as a director of the firm.

Hayward spent 13 years at Quantitative Management Associates, an investment firm based in Newark, N.J. He also held executive positions at Jennison Associates and JPMorgan.

In addition, Andy Martin from Cambridge Associates has been hired for a newly created position as head of investment teams. Martin spent 10 years with Cambridge Associates, most recently as managing director in the non-profit practice and as global head of hedge fund research.

In other action, the firm is launching a series of strategies to appeal to clients who are focused on the issue of climate change. The strategy is intended to enable investors to promote a positive environmental impact while achieving superior investment results, the firm says.

The first new strategy, which will be implemented in The Climate Change Fund, will launch in the first quarter and will target companies focused on climate change mitigation and adaptation.
