Tim Ryan, president and CEO of SIFMA, said the public is confused about the responsibilities of various financial professionals.
“And because of that confusion,” Ryan added, “and the differences that exist, there has been an effort identified by both Congress and the SEC to try to bring all providers of similar [services] to the same high level of care, which SIFMA strongly supports as a concept.”
