Joshua Farmer, a financial planner at Brookstone Wealth Management in Oxford, Mass., uses existing clients to bring in new ones through a client advisory board. “We bring in some of our best and most fun-to-work-with clients and share some of the behind the scenes of our practice,” he said. “They become more engaged with the process and are more open to sharing what is valuable, and what isn’t, with friends, family and co-workers. It has brought in more clients that look similar to those that we want to replicate in the practice.”
