In terms of barriers to preparing for retirement, non-retired respondents cited financial constraints (61%), uncertainties (44%) and time demands (35%) as the top issues.

The report also found that fewer Americans have a financial support system compared to a health support system. It showed that while 60% have support from a professional to offer expertise, 93% have access to a health professional for advice.

On the other hand, 68% have support from family or friends to provide financially, while 80% have access to family and friends when it comes to providing support for health issues.

Further, the report noted that almost one third of respondents said they have access to a financial advisor, however, only 29 percent they actually work with a licensed financial professional.
