SVB Private, providing private banking, wealth planning and trust services to the innovation economy, has appointed Tom Fickinger to the position of head of Wealth Advisory West, the company said.

In his new role, Fickinger will grow and manage private wealth advisor teams on the West Coast in serving the financial needs of clients leveraging planning, lending, investing, and banking services. He will lead the Wealth Advisory business alongside Rich Jaffe, head of Wealth Advisory Northeast, and Ro Mehrotra, head of Wealth Advisory Central & South.

An industry veteran with more than three decades of banking and wealth management experience, Fickinger received a B.A. degree from Penn State University. He most recently served as president of the Northern California Region at BNY Mellon Wealth Management, where he led teams responsible for providing investment management, fiduciary services, wealth and estate planning, and private banking services for individuals, families, family offices and endowment and foundations. Fickinger also held key leadership roles at Merrill Lynch Global Wealth Management, including leading the firm’s Pacific Northwest Division.
