The Bahnsen Group, a Newport Beach, Calif., wealth manager with $3.2 billion in assets under management, has chosen Nashville, Tenn., as its fourth office location, the company announced today in a press release.

This latest location, at the SunTrust Plaza (401 Commerce Street), is set to open during the first quarter of 2022, and will primarily house new advisory and administrative personnel. None of the firm’s staff in its existing office locations will relocate to Nashville, the company said.

“This Nashville office is going to be built from the ground up, purely out of our desire to put a flag in the Nashville Market,” David Bahnsen, the firm’s founder, managing partner and chief investment officer, said in a statement.

“We have significant client interest in our content, platform, and core beliefs there and throughout the whole southern region of the country, and we could not be more excited for this expansion,” Bahnsen said. “Our plan is to see our Nashville presence grow substantially in the years to come, and we want to bring our geographical presence to what has become one of the most desirable places to live and work in America. Several of our existing Nashville-based clients are not just native Tennesseans, but also those who have relocated to Nashville that we have worked with for many years in California.”

In July, the firm opened an office in Minneapolis with the hiring of Story Capital, which served C-suite and other senior corporate executives in the Twin Cities area. The Bahnsen Group also maintains an office in New York City.

The firm also announced today that it has hired Brian Miller, formerly a regional consultant at Alliance Bernstein, as its first advisor for the Nashville office. He will train in Newport Beach office until the launch of the Nashville office, the release said. It also noted that the firm has begun a search for an office manager, an operations associate and possible other advisory talent.

The Bahnsen Group recently also added key personnel in its existing offices. In September, Joseph Klein, joined the Newport Beach office to direct its services and planning department and play a key role in its family office launch. Liping Ouyang also joined in Newport Beach as an equity analyst in the solutions and analytics department. And Evan Bozymski was hired as a private wealth advisor in the New York City office.

Bahnsen, who founded the firm in April 2015, spent eight years as a chairman’s club managing director at Morgan Stanley and seven years as a first vice president at UBS Financial Services. He also is the author of several books, a frequent guest on Fox Business, CNBC and Bloomberg, and is a regular contributor to National Review and Forbes.

In February, Larry Kudlow, former White House National Economic Council director and a former member of Donald Trump’s coronavirus task force joined The Bahnsen Group as an economic advisor.
