The Mather Group, a Chicago-based RIA, has acquired Mill Valley, Calif.-based Berman Investment Advisors, gaining a foothold in the wealth-saturated San Francisco Bay area.
The acquisition, which closed Oct. 1, adds more than $1 billion to The Mather Group’s assets under management, bringing total AUM to approximately $2.8 billion. In 2018, Financial Advisor named The Mather Group among its fastest growing RIAs.
Steve Berman, founder and president of Berman Investment Advisors, will stay on with The Mather Group as chairman of the firm’s family office.
