I was particularly enamored with George’s description of the Battle of Midway. I have read the books and seen the movies, and I knew that battle was touch and go; but I didn’t realize how much of the future of the world was riding on the outcome. Frankly, the United States got amazingly lucky. When George began to describe to me what would have happened had we lost that battle, I suddenly saw geopolitics in a whole new light.
