Two Peoria, Ill., teams sharing the same office have joined LPL Financial’s broker-dealer, corporate registered investment advisor and custodial platforms with a combined total of approximately $400 million in client assets, the companies said today in a news release.

Both teams, which frequently collaborate, were formerly with the Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company (MassMutual). Financial advisors Alicia Curtis and Jyl Barnard, operating as Curtis Barnard Financial Services, managed approximately $250 million in client assets, and financial professional Chris Dearing and assistant Kari Snyder, operating as Riverfront Financial Group, managed approximately $150 million in client assets.

The advisors are all longtime colleagues, as well as close-knit friends. Curtis and Barnard have known each other since age 7, and they’ve known Dearing for about 25 years. LPL spokesperson Shannon Greene said in a June 17 email that the two practices do not plan on merging.

Headquartered in Fort Mill, S.C.; San Diego; and Boston, LPL Financial supports more than 18,000 financial advisors, 800 institution-based investment programs and 450 independent RIA firms nationwide.
