The Tango Group, a father and son team, and financial advisor Tahj Holden, a former basketball player and coach, have joined Janney Montgomery Scott LLC, a financial services firm headquartered in Philadelphia.

The Tango Group, led by father Anthony Tango, executive vice president/wealth management, and his son, Carmine Tango, were formerly with Merrill Lynch, where they managed more than $273 million in client assets. The practice, which serves high-net-worth individuals and families, will join Janney in its Bedminster, N.J. office.

Anthony Tango has more than 31 years of experience and specializes in investment management services for employee benefit and retirement plans, institutional accounts and high-net-worth individuals. Prior to joining Janney, he served at Merrill Lynch as a senior portfolio manager. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from Upsala College.

Carmine Tango specializes in portfolio analysis, economic research, analytics and client reviews. Carmine’s financial services career began in 2013 at Merrill Lynch, where he joined the Estate team. He earned his Bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University.

Holden was formerly with Morgan Stanley, where he managed over $8 million in client assets. He joins Janney’s Red Bank, N.J. office.

A Red Bank, N.J. native, Holden held various basketball and coaching positions before entering the financial services industry. He earned a B.A. degree in communications from the University of Maryland.
