San Francisco, Calif.-based Wells Fargo Asset Management added Eddie Cheng, Chenfei Ma and Stephane Renevier to its multi-asset platform, the firm announced.

Wells Fargo Asset Management is a division of Wells Fargo Wealth and Investment Management. It manages $497 million in assets and supports 29 autonomous investment teams and over 500 investment professionals.

All three were poached from Schroders Global Asset Management’s multi-asset team. President of Wells Fargo Asset Management (WFAM) Nicolaas Marais, who was previously with Schroders multi-asset business unit, recruited Cheng as the head of international portfolio management, Ma as an investment analyst and Renevier as a portfolio manager.

“The addition of Eddie, Chenfei and Stephane to our team not only strengthens our capabilities in the area of machine learning but further deepens the team’s experience as we aim to deliver best-in-class absolute return and alternative risk premia strategies to our clients,” said Marais in a statement.

Cheng will report to Marais, while Ma and Revier will report to Cheng. Cheng will be responsible for managing absolute return and alternative risk premiums strategies, stated the company’s release. He will also support the growth of Wells Fargo’s Asian business in conjunction with the head of research for the multi-asset solutions team.

Reveir, Ma and Cheng will be based in London.
