“We also tell firms to decide what kind of team they want to build, rather than looking at a single position that is being filled,” she says.

“Without diversity in the firm you do not have a team that can provide holistic planning,” Hathi says. “The situation is improving, but it will take deliberate, continued effort. We have seen the percentage of women in RIA firms increasing but now we have to empower women to tell their story to attract others.”
