(Bloomberg News) The floor and building of the New York Stock Exchange "are fine" following Hurricane Sandy and the company is working toward restoring normal trading, according to Robert Rendine, a spokesman.

U.S. equity exchanges plan to reopen tomorrow after the first two-day shutdown caused by weather in more than a century. NYSE Euronext's building on Wall Street is close to the section of Manhattan that was flooded when the storm propelled a 13-foot sea surge as it came ashore last night.

The NYSE began testing for a back-up plan that would be necessary if storm damage prevented it from reopening the floor tomorrow. Should that be the case, NYSE Arca, its electronic market, would be the primary market for New York-listed stocks. Firms started to test their systems on NYSE Arca staring at 9:30 a.m.
