In 2013, Congressman John Carter’s 31st District in Austin, Texas, was the top ranked congressional district with $24.9 billion in private equity investments, but in 2014 it was Rep. Carolyn Maloney’s 12th District in New York with $18.2 billion.
“Congresswoman Maloney's district includes Manhattan, which is a hub for private equity investment,” Maloney told Private Wealth.
Following New York are Rep. Danny K. Davis at $8.6 billion in Illinois, Rep. Kenny E. Marchant in Texas at $8.1 billion, Rep. Tom Price in Georgia at $7.8 billion and Florida Rep. Ander Crenshaw’s district at $6.6 billion.
