Along with its new ETF, Elkhorn’s investment products include market-linked CDs, structured notes and unit investment trusts.

Fulton says he started Elkhorn to create passive investments across a range of different products beyond ETFs. “The next evolution of passive firms is that they become more structurally agnostic,” he explains.

“If we’re going to be the innovators of index design, we should be able to offer that in different ways. With CAPX, for example, either currently or in coming months we’ll offer this as a note, a CD, a UIT and an ETF. We’ll have it in various forms for advisors who have clients with different needs and preferences.”

Fulton says Elkhorn has other ETF ideas in the works that could result in new funds later this year.
