LPL Financial LLC has created the Retirement Partners Group for its advisors with extensive experience in handling retirement plans for companies of all sizes, LPL announced Tuesday.

To be part of the group, advisors must be recognized leaders in the retirement plan industry, have at least 10 years experience and hold approved industry designations, says LPL, the nation’s largest broker/dealer.

LPL will provide additional branding and marketing for the group to differentiate them from other LPL advisors. The group will also create networking opportunities for its members, allowing them to share expertise and referrals.

The initial group will have 87 members handling approximately 4,000 companies’ retirement plans with nearly $40 billion in plan assets. The Retirement Partners Group was created by LPL Financial Retirement Partners, the retirement-plan-focused division of LPL Financial.

It is part of LPL’s commitment to be a leader in the retirement plan segment of the independent financial advisory industry, says Bill Chetney, executive vice president of LPL Financial Retirement Partners.

“The establishment of the Retirement Partners Group will help broaden familiarity with LPL Financial as a major participant in this industry and as the home of many of its most accomplished practitioners,” Chetney says.
