The National Association of Plan Advisors (NAPA) has recognized more than 170 women as top retirement plan advisors.

NAPA is a non-profit organization that supports the interests of retirement plan advisors and is known for creating industry lists, including the “Top 50 Advisors Under 40.”  The organization announced its first list of Top Women Advisors on Wednesday.

NAPA said its editorial team started planning the list a year ago after being "inspired by the immense growth and contributions of women in the industry."

NAPA received 450 nominations, 12,500 votes and used a qualified panel of judges to review the female advisors based on their experience, education and practice.

NAPA named honorees in each of the following categories:

  • All-Stars: Top producers who have their own book.
  • Captains: All-stars who happen to be principals, owners and team captains of their organizations.
  • MVPs: Outstanding players who are part of a team.
  • Rising Stars: Women with less than five years of experience with retirement plans as an advisor.
